Colonies Donate to Senior Little League Tounament

The following article is from guest contributor Sid Robinson from the blog Sid's Side.

UPLAND, Calif. Colonies Partners, investors and developers of a housing
community and shopping center in north Upland, has donated $5,000 to help
support the Senior Little League Regional Tournament to be held Aug. 3-11 at
Upland Memorial Park.

The tournament, which will feature up to 12 state champions, is the final
event before the Senior Little League World Series in Bangor, Maine, and is
the highest level Little League baseball tournament ever held in Upland.

³This is just another example of the generosity and community involvement of
the Colonies Partners and their investors, ² said Ralph Cavallo, president
of Upland National Little League, which is co-hosting the tournament with
Little League Baseball¹s California District 23.

In 2006, Colonies Partners and their investors contributed $50,000 toward
Upland National Little League¹s field renovation project at Olivedale Park
in Upland. The ballpark is now known as Colonies Crossroads Stadium.

³Without the donation from the Colonies, we would not have the beautiful
artificial turf field that is there today,² Cavallo said. ³They have been
more than generous and an outstanding supporter and partner, not only with
our Little League, but with organizations throughout the community.²

The tournament will include teams from the Western United States. Players
ages 14-16 from Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Northern
California, Oregon, Southern California, Utah, Washington and Wyoming will
have achieved their once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete for a berth at
the Senior Little League World Series.

The donation from the Colonies will go completely toward assisting teams
with travel, dining and hotel expenses. Last year, three of the state
champion teams did not travel to Southern California to participate in the
Western Regional Tournament, because expenses are not covered.

³We know things will be difficult this year, too, because of the economy,²
Cavallo said. ³But with donations from the Colonies and we hope many others,
the players from those teams who have earned a place in the Western Regional
Tournament will be able to participate in the tournament and experience
their dreams of competing for a berth in the World Series.

³It is a great honor to have a tournament of this level in our town of
Upland. I hope we can make it memorable for all involved,² Cavallo said.

Contributions can be sent to Little League Baseball, CA District 23, P.O.
Box 92, Upland, CA, 91785.

How nice of the San Bernardino Tax Payers to make this donation...Yes I said tax payers since the Colonies Partners have gotten at least $120 Million from the tax Payers they can afford to a little Generous...Of course their Campaign contributions amount to a whole lot more the this....but this make for some nice PR(and they need some)...too bad their lack some integrity and a moral compass make me question them(but then so most of the politicians they have to deal with) when it comes to doing business and makes me question whether their desire to be charitable is sincere or just PR. Regardless, I am glad the Little League was helped out

Wow, did Upland take your house under Imminent Domain to build the Colonies? You're in as Anonymous but your post has the same tone as the commenter on my story about the Colonies mysterious parking lot.

As the "Erin Brokavich" of the Colonies, I will again extend an invite to you to do a full write up on what's going on up there. Email me if you are interested.

It would be more prudent if Colonies Partners ans Mr. Burum finally help the tenants in the colonies who generate all the monies that are donated or used to grease the political machine so Mr. burum can collect political decisions in his favor so he can make more money to do the same. It delights me Mr. Burum and Paul Biane now have to answer.

Jeff Burrum need to leave or state and go corrupt politicians somewhere else such as Cuba or Irag. He has for years cannoized himself here in the Inland Empire. I hope the courts freeze his assets and send him to Atica for a long time. You have done enough danage to our committies. Respectfully-PACK_UP and GET OUT
